Overview
Kharkiv is one of the largest cities in Ukraine. As in every big city, in Kharkiv there are problems that need improvement. One such problem is the transport system, information, and the ability to quickly and conveniently pay for te fare. The project is an iOS mobile app for a single electronic ticket for all types of transport, aimed at simplifying the life of ordinary people who use public transport every day. Also, it is useful for tourists and visitors.
Problem
Kharkiv, being one of Ukraine's largest cities, faces significant transportation challenges, including a lack of centralised payment systems and insufficient information for public transport users. Residents and visitors often struggle with fragmented fare systems and inconsistent updates about routes and schedules. Designing an iOS app for the E-Ticket system required addressing the needs of diverse users—daily commuters, tourists, and occasional visitors—while ensuring accessibility, security, and ease of use. The project involved overcoming technical limitations in integrating with various transport systems and maintaining data accuracy. Additionally, the system had to be scalable to support a growing number of users as the city’s transport needs evolve.
Solution
I developed an intuitive iOS app for the E-Ticket system that consolidated fare payments across all types of public transport in Kharkiv. By implementing a user-centric design, the app simplifies navigation and ensures seamless access to essential features such as route information, fare calculation, and real-time updates. The app leverages a secure and efficient payment gateway to enable quick and hassle-free transactions. To accommodate diverse user needs, the design prioritized accessibility and multilingual support. Regular collaboration with city transport authorities ensured the app’s functionality aligned with existing infrastructure. Continuous user feedback was integrated to refine the app, ensuring it meets both current and future demands.

E-Ticket aims to revolutionize public transportation in Kharkiv by providing a unified, efficient, and user-friendly solution for fare payments and transit information. Our goal is to simplify daily commutes for residents and enhance the experience for visitors by offering a seamless mobile platform that integrates all modes of public transport. By prioritizing accessibility, real-time updates, and secure payment options, E-Ticket strives to become an essential tool for navigating the city. We envision a future where public transit is more convenient, connected, and inclusive for everyone.

To formulate a hypothesis for the E-Ticket app, we need to clearly define the problem it addresses, gather data to support this problem, identify key assumptions, create a concise "If...then" hypothesis statement, and establish metrics to measure its success, such as user adoption and satisfaction rates.

To ensure the E-Ticket app meets the needs of Kharkiv's residents and visitors, we conducted a UX survey to gather valuable insights. The survey was designed to identify key pain points in the city's public transport system and assess user expectations for a centralized digital fare payment solution.
