Overview
Active is a health-focused digital initiative aimed at reducing cardiovascular disease (CVD) risks among residents of Kharkiv. The project promotes preventive healthcare through physical activity, healthy nutrition, and lifestyle changes. By combining behavior change strategies with accessible technology, Active empowers users to monitor their heart health, stay motivated, and adopt long-term wellness habits.
Problem
According to the Ministry of Health, over 20 million Ukrainians (58.4%) suffer from cardiovascular diseases, making CVD one of the country’s most critical public health issues. Despite widespread awareness of the risk factors—such as smoking, poor diet, physical inactivity, stress, and alcohol use—most people lack the personal motivation or tools to take preventive action.
Currently, there is no unified digital platform in Ukraine that helps individuals track, understand, and reduce their cardiovascular risk. This gap leaves many citizens without the necessary guidance or community support to maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle.
Solution
Active provides a comprehensive digital ecosystem designed to inspire Ukrainians to live healthier lives. The platform encourages users to increase physical activity, improve nutrition, and break harmful habits through personalized recommendations and progress tracking. It also fosters social motivation by building communities where people support each other toward shared wellness goals.
By offering accessible health insights, activity guidance, and educational resources, Active enables users to take control of their cardiovascular health and prevent CVD through consistent, data-driven, and community-supported lifestyle improvements.
